J.T. Russell & Sons, Inc. has been in business for 69 year and is a family own business that is in its fourth generation. JTR originated in the farming industry, which consisted mainly of plowing and cutting wheat. Below are some facts about JTR.

1939: J.T. Russell & Sons established.
1944: J.T. Russell Sr. purchased the company's first bulldozer in which they used for digging basements and ponds.
1954: J.T. Russell Jr. recieved his contrator's license, which allowed the company to venture over to the commercial side of the business.
1966: Business was incorporated with Robert Russell as president; J. T Russell as VP; and J.T. Russell Jr. as secretary.
1987: First asphalt plant was operating in New London, NC.
1996: Second asphalt plant was running in Mint Hill and a reclycing plant was purchased.
2004: Began mixing asphalt bagging for QPR; which is found in various Lowes Home Improvement stores
2007: Acquired an asphalt plant & grading and paving business in Conover, NC and Rock Hill, SC. JTR also started in the liquid asphalt business. This operation is located in Healing Springs, NC.
